I counted my change in the tin cup, picked up a friend and headed to Frenchy's for a little March Break outing! Rather then look at the second-hand clothing, we spent our time rummaging through the tables of books and stuff. For $6.25, I found some treasures to add to my classroom.
Interesting collection of items. Makes me wonder what you will do with each.
ReplyDeleteRosita and I giggled about the wool bowls! Couldn't picture them for normal bowl things like soup and cereal! :0) Beautifully handcrafted by someone somewhere though (the clothing and stuff comes from somewhere in New England, I think). My kids are going to love using them for rock soup and more!

Do you know that Irene Latham, whose new poetry book I reviewed on Monday has written a middle grade chapter book about the Gee's Bend quilts: Leaving Gee's Bend. If you are interested, you might love her story, too. It looks like a fun day of antiquing. I've love to go along!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! I had no idea what the name on the box meant! Just picked it up because the postcards looked interesting! Now reading the back of the box where it explains some of the history ... and I need to look into the book by Latham! Thank you, Linda!
